In 1880, the Rev. James Peter Young founded St James' Choir School in the Aqua Rooms, Grimsby. You can read about Canon Young and the history of the School on our School History Page.
For our 125th Anniversary in 2005, a number of special events were held. Here are some of them:
- Victorian Day - Friday 8th July 2005, all children in Prep School took part in the theme day with lessons, clothes and food all in Victorian theme. (Click here to view images)
- 125th Ball - Friday 8th July, 7:30 for 8pm, at the Winter Gardens, Cleethorpes.
- Summer Fate - Saturday 9th July, 2pm to 5pm.
- Commemoration Service - Sunday 10th July at 6pm.

"Glad Hearts Adventuring" St James' has written a History of the School to mark the significance of the 125th Anniversary.
Many people associated with the School have contributed memories and pictures to this commemoration. Here is a page with a couple of extracts from the book.
