 Nursery

Nursery: part-time or full-time for children age 3 to 4 years.

Our Nursery children are cared for within the Olive Carr Pre-Prep Department. Children enter the Nursery at the beginning of the term or half term after they turn three, and they will remain within the same class, with the same teachers, until the September that they start school.

The children take part in some activities together, like cooking or music, whilst they are separated for both numeric and language work according to their age and ability. In September 2009, we are also introducing French to the Nursery class curriculum.

The promotion of independence is continued within the Nursery, they continue being responsible for putting their activities away, brushing their teeth, getting ready for mealtimes, clearing their plates and also preparing snacks.. The children each have their targets for the term which are specific to each child, they range from something as simple as putting their wellingtons on themselves for the younger children, to writing the numbers one to ten for the older children.
