History is a diverse and interesting subject at
St. James School.

The content studied and skills developed throughout
the school are:

Pupils are taught and assessed in core historical strands:

-content and chronology,
-cause and consequence,
-interpretation,
-use of sources and
-communication.

To accomplish this, pupils can find themselves taking notes from PowerPoint presentation on the Norman Conquest in Year 7, analysing sources on James I and making inferences about his character in Year 8 and writing an essay on the causes of the Great Reform Act in Year 9.
