GCSE RESULTS 2007

Fantastic GCSE results once again for St. James'!

St. James' School has been the top private school in both North and North East Lincolnshire, achieving some brilliant results for the past three years and this year is no exception. The fact that St. James' remains a non-selective school makes these results even more outstanding.

A fantastic 79% of UK students achieved 5 or more A* to C grades; with 76% of them including Maths and English. Great emphasis is placed on core subjects at St. James'. This is particularly evident by a staggering 85% of pupils achieving C or above in Maths.

Sue Isaac, Headteacher, attributes this success to the dedication of both staff and students alike. We have small classes throughout the Senior Department ensuring that all of our students receive the individual attention that is so vital throughout their GCSE courses. We offer extra revision lessons in all subjects and also an invaluable one to one mentoring system for all students who require help. In addition, many of our students also joined the well known Crammer Course, with which the Schools' involvement is ever increasing. I am delighted with our results; all of the students worked so hard. Well done!"

The Science Department at St. James' is overjoyed; we are unique in that we offer separate sciences at GCSE and have achieved exceptional results; 100% of the students were awarded grade C and above and 48% achieved either A* or A.

Amongst the highest of achievers was Hannah Twomey, achieving a superb 11 subjects at A* and A grade.
