High Quality Part-time or full-time education for children age 3 to 4 years
The Nursery class is situated in the Olive Carr House, a purpose built Foundation Stage unit set in beautiful, leafy surroundings. The Nursery benefits from a large well resourced classroom and extensive and secure outdoor play areas.
Children are taught by enthusiastic, hardworking and well trained Early Years Practitioners. The children in the Nursery Class also benefit from having a fully qualified teacher, specialising in Early Years, teaching and managing them. The children benefit from small class sizes and excellent teacher/pupil ratios. The Nursery Teacher and the children are appointed a Key Practitioner who monitors and assesses each child’s progress while planning and catering for each individual child’s learning requirements.
Our Nursery Class team create a fun, stimulating and caring environment for every child to explore, investigate and learn about the world around them. The Nursery children are provided with a broad range of learning
experiences which develops inquisitive minds and a love of learning.
The learning experiences we provide cover the Department for Education and Skills Curriculum for the Early Years Foundation Stage. There are six areas of learning within this curriculum.
Your child will be given the opportunity to learn through well planned play and teacher led activities based on a variety of topics which children are inspired by and interested in. These stimulate the children’s ideas and imagination, increase their awareness of numbers, shape and space and develop their communication and social skills. They help children to become more independent, to learn how to work effectively together and to think for themselves. As the children develop and gain more confidence, we foster their skills in reading, language and number work to provide a secure basis for literacy and numeracy.
We aim to provide a rich and stimulating curriculum as well as providing the children with the essential tools to become independent and confident learners.
