Sport at St James’

At St. James we pride ourselves not only on the progress made and achievement of our most able pupils, but also on the opportunities offered to those for whom enjoyment, experience and the development of team skills are the main objectives.

The experienced and committed games staff have created a sporting programme that makes the best use of our own facilities and those in the surrounding area. Having developed links with clubs at a local level, pupils also benefit from the use of dedicated nearby facilities.

Children from Reception to Year 9 have swimming lessons and games lessons as part of the curriculum; with PE lessons being introduced (in addition) at Prep 3.

Pupils compete both locally through the North East Lincolnshire Schools Partnership and nationally through the Independent Schools Association and the Governing Bodies, in all sports, with a programme that includes on average 30 fixtures per term.
