Test Match Trip
Fifteen pupils from Years 7 to 10 enjoyed a day at the Old Trafford Test Match between England and New Zealand. We witnessed New Zealand batting, on the first day of the test, before the players went off for rain/bad light at around 4pm. All the pupils thoroughly enjoyed their day, having experienced the unique atmosphere of an English Test Match.
Wimbledon Visit
Eight members of the School Tennis Club were lucky to gain Court 1 Wimbledon tickets and enjoyed a fantastic day, after a difficult 7 hour journey down. They witnessed Nadal winning a four setter, Sharapova being knocked out and Britains new find Chris Eaton, making his Show Court debut.
We have also been lucky enough to attain tickets for Great Britain's Davis Cup tie with Austria, on September 19th, which is to be held on the same court. Best get that Red, White and Blue clothing ready!
Activity Days
On June 18th, 2008 we ran a coach to the Lincolnshire Show, a minibus to the City of York, and took a team to the District U13 Tennis Championships.
On July 17th, 2008 we took a party of students to Lincoln's Watersports Centre, ran a School Tennis Tournament, ran a general sports activity day and took a group of students ice-skating for the morning. In the afternoon our Choirs and Orchestra rehearsed for the evening concert whilst the rest of the Senior School either played Short Tennis or used our ICT facilities.
