About the Role and You.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Art and Photography lessons across KS4 & KS5 (GCSE and A-Level).
  • Develop creative schemes of work that promote independence, critical thinking, and technical skill.
  • Teach a variety of media, including digital and traditional photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media.
  • Support students with coursework and portfolio development in line with exam board requirements.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
  • Maintain an inspiring, safe, and well-organised studio and classroom environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and introduce new technologies, techniques, and artists.
  • Organise displays, exhibitions, and enrichment activities such as art clubs, trips, and workshops.
  • Support students with further education or creative career applications.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues across the department and school.

About You : We're seeking a visionary and dedicated Teacher of Art who:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant Art or Photography degree (or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching Art and/or Photography at KS4 and KS5 level.
  • Strong knowledge of GCSE and A-Level specifications and assessment objectives.
  • Skilled in a range of artistic media, including both traditional and digital techniques.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire creativity, independence, and high achievement in students.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting a range of learner needs.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to extracurricular and whole-school activities.
