Boarding

St James’ School has a long tradition of boarding. We passionately believe that an education lived is richer than an education attended. Our boarding community has a real family feel with students from around the world living together and supporting eachother with the caring oversight of proactive Houseparents.

Why Boarding

Boarding is key to our continued success and the school has a culture that inspires throughout the day seven days a week, empowering our students to achieve the best academically and socially, in our happy and close community each student  known and cherished an individual. Consequently, every pupil potential, whatever that might be is explored and fulfilled. Our children develop the skills needed for the future challenges in global workplace and our approach to boarding is sympathetic to the needs of today's families, where children can go home regularly and parents are actively involved in school life.

Our boarding experience is truly unique. Here at St. James' we understand the issues surrounding our modern families, thats why we have made our boarding provision the cheapest in the UK.

Activities

At St. James', we pride ourselves in the family environment we create for our boarding students. In addition to their full and varied curriculum during the school day, we offer students the chance to join clubs in the local area in order to develop any skills or interests they may have or wish to experience.

We like to create bespoke additions to our enrichment programme, any students with hobbies not listed in the current programme will be catered for if available in the local area. Where possible, boarders are driven to and collected from, and often accompanied to the activities.
