Introduction

St. James’ Sixth Form is a highly personalised two year experience for pupils moving up from the Senior department or joining us from another school.

Large enough to offer an impressive range of A-Levels and vocational courses, yet small enough to allow for bespoke combinations of courses, the Sixth Form at St. James’ prepares students for the next stage of their lives as independent, confident and self-aware young adults.

Retaining our family atmosphere, the Sixth Form is punctuated by individual attention and support which promotes self-reflection and personal growth. There are many advantages to being part of our Sixth Form: knowledge, independence, leadership, and friendship.

Employers and universities look beyond CVs, hoping to see confident communicators, creative problem solvers, and collaborative team players.

We help develop these attributes through enrichment activities: TED style talks, Public Speaking and Debating, Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), visiting speakers, cultural visits, work experience, extracurricular courses and our ‘Life Skills’ programme.

Pathway conversations are held early in Year 12 to enable individual support of UCAS applications or their aspirational next step. Guiding our students as they make the important choices which will shape their, and our, futures.

At St. James’ our Sixth Formers aspire to achieve more than excellent academic results; they wish to be ‘Future Proofed’, equipped with knowledge and skills to help them lead a fulfilling life.
