Wellbeing

St James’ School understands that pupil happiness underpins everything; happy pupils learn more effectively.

Through our focus on wellbeing we aim to equip our pupils with the skills and confidence to

‘be the hero of their own story’

Wellbeing begins with understanding and valuing oneself - with the development of self-reflection and self-esteem; we add to this a growth mindset, resilience, mindfulness, and a range of coping strategies. The end result: pupils who know their own mind, understand their own strengths, can make the right decisions.

Through our unique PHSE and Life Skills programme, supported by our Form Tutors, Chaplain, and Counselling services, we encourage each pupil to embrace their strengths and develop the skills needed for them to flourish in the wider world.
